Rourkela: A land dispute turned fatal for a man in Odisha's Sundargarh district's Mahulpada area when his neighbor allegedly killed him over the issue.
The deceased, Chaitu Nayak, and the accused, Laka Nayak, are both residents of Haatisal village, Phuljhar panchayat, Mahulpada police limits.
According to sources, Chaitu and Laka have been feuding for a long time over a plot of land. On Sunday evening, the two got into another argument over the issue, which turned ugly. In a fit of rage, Laka attacked Chaitu with a wooden plank, killing him on the spot.
After being notified, a team of police officers rushed to the scene and began an investigation into the incident. A forensic team was also called in to assist with the investigation, while Laka was being questioned by police. According to police, further investigation is underway.
