Father and daughter found dead in locked room in Cuttack
Local police have filed a case of unnatural death regarding the incident. Investigations are ongoing to gather more details and clarify this unfortunate case.

Tragically, the bodies of a man and his daughter were discovered inside a locked flat at Snehalata Apartments in Badambadi, Cuttack, on Friday.
While the body of the father, identified as a 60-year-old Manas Ranjan Das, was found hanging, the body of the daughter was found lying on the bed. The duo had been residing in this rented accommodation for the past two years.
Circumstances under investigation
While the cause of death is still unknown, initial reports suggest possible financial distress may be related to these tragic events. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the circumstances that led to their deaths.
Police action
Local police have reportedly filed a case of unnatural death related to the incident. Investigations are ongoing to gather more details and bring clarity to this unfortunate case.
"We have launched an investigation in connection with this case. Detailed information about the incident will be revealed only after the investigation progresses," said ACP Ashok Kumar Giri of Cuttack Zone-6.
"I don’t know how this happened. I live in Bhubaneswar. After receiving a phone call from the police about the incident, I came here. The last time I had contact with them was about two and a half years ago during a phone call. They mentioned that they were living in Keonjhar. However, I just learned today that they were actually staying in Cuttack," said Sushmita Das, the deceased man’s sister.
“The deceased’s wife passed away when their daughter was only 23 days old. He was employed at a company in Bhubaneswar,” said Vivek Nanda, a friend of the deceased.
“Manas Babu was a quiet person who didn’t speak much to others. He often kept to himself and spent most of his time in his room,” said Subrat Nanda, a resident of the apartment.
