Khandagiri Mela: BMC Orders No Obscene Dance on Stage

The Khandagiri Magha Mela is set to begin on Tuesday, and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has implemented a ban on obscene dance performances during the Odia Jatras.
Emphasizing the significance of Khandagiri heritage, BMC Mayor Sulochana Das communicated this decision in a letter to the mela committee. The letter states that stern action will be taken against Jatra parties if they perform dances that feature obscene or vulgar content on stage.
In addition to addressing the Opera Party owners, the BMC has urged the cooperation of the organizing committees to monitor and report any instances of vulgarity during the performances.
