Sundargarh: Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a roadside eatery in the Koira area of Odisha's Sundargarh district, killing one person and critically injuring the owner.

According to sources, five bikers attacked the Malda Dharmakanta dhaba late Sunday night and fired several rounds, critically injuring eatery owner Ramesh Chatamba and his associate Ram Purti.

While the perpetrators fled the scene, locals rescued the two injured people and rushed them to a hospital, where Ram was pronounced dead.

Ramesh was transferred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment as his condition worsened.
