Four people were critically injured in a near-rerun of the Delhi hit-and-run case on Wednesday morning when a speeding car rammed into them from the wrong side of the road at AG Square.
Bhubaneswar: Four people were critically injured in a near-rerun of the Delhi hit-and-run case on Wednesday morning when a speeding car rammed into them from the wrong side of the road at AG Square.
According to sources, a car rammed into a woman riding a scooter and dragged it for about 500 meters from AG Square to Rabindra Mandap. It also collided with other two-wheelers in the middle of the road. The incident injured four people, including the scooty rider who was thrown off the two-wheeler. They've been admitted to Capital Hospital in this city.
Following the series of accidents, police pursued and apprehended the driver as he attempted to flee, leaving the vehicle in front of Rabindra Mandap.
He is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol while driving the vehicle. The identities of the injured have yet to be determined.
"The driver is being questioned. "Strong action will be taken against him in accordance with traffic law," said a police officer.
