Koraput: On Sunday night, a Hyva truck struck two people's bikes in Kakiriguma village in Koraput district, leaving one person seriously injured and two others dead.
The Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital received the patients, where two of them were pronounced dead. When the accident on NH-326 happened, they were travelling from Deomali on a bike.
According to media accounts, a bauxite-loaded Hyva truck travelling from Kodingamali mines to the Kakirigumma railway station yard struck the bike head-on.
23 people were in another accident in Rayagada on Sunday night when the bus they were riding in toppled at Raising ghat in the Gajapati district. The bus was travelling from Rayagada to Berhampur. All of the passengers made it out safely.
