Twin City Police Arrest One More Person From Bihar In Fake Drugs Racket In Odisha

Cuttack: Twin City Commissionerate Police detained another individual from Bihar in connection with the suspected provision of bogus blood pressure medications and brought him to Cuttack on transit remand.

Anil Mishra, Additional DCP, Cuttack, identified him as Vikas Kumar (33) of Nayatullah in Bihar's Patna district. He was apprehended on December 6 in connection with a case filed at the Purighat police station and based on the statements of two other suspects apprehended in Bihar who claimed to have purchased the medications from him, he added.

"He appeared in SDJM court there on December 6 and was sent here on transit remand on Wednesday." He will be produced in court today. We will request a three-day police remand and question him in order to uncover the activities of those involved in this scam," he continued.

Aside from these three Bihar residents, police had previously detained four others, including the owners of the two retail establishments, Sanjay Jalan and Rahul Kayal.
