Bhubaneswar: Odisha can anticipate some reprieve from the hot and muggy weather starting on August 5, when significant rainfall is expected in various districts.

On Tuesday, the MeT office predicted that one or two locations in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, and Kandhamal would see heavy rainfall on August 5. The following day, there is a chance of one or more locations in Puri, Ganjam, Khurda, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall. Additionally, there is a chance that some locations in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, K

Between August 2 and August 4, the state is predicted to get light to moderate rainfall. Additionally, a yellow alert has been sounded for a thunderstorm or lightning for several district till August 3.
