The city of Bhubaneswar is rocked by a double murder over a car parking dispute.
Two individuals, Rashmi Ranjan Sethi and Julu Sethi, were allegedly murdered following a parking altercation at Kalyani Plaza in Bhubaneswar. The incident escalated when Rashmi slapped Bapi, the maintenance in charge. Bapi and an associate attacked Rashmi with sharp weapons, killing him on the spot. Julu succumbed to injuries at Capital Hospital. Police have launched an investigation.

Last night, in a macabre act, two people were allegedly murdered following an altercation over parking at Kalayani Plaza near Hitech Apartment under Airfield police limits in Bhubaneswar. The deceased have been identified as Rashmi Ranjan Sethi and his friend Julu Sethi.
According to sources, Rashmi Ranjan had several rounds of altercation with the maintenance in charge of Kalyani Plaza, identified as Bapi, and had a brawl on Tuesday night over car parking.
The altercation took a nasty turn on Wednesday night when Bapi prevented Rashmi Ranjan from parking his car in front of the apartment. Enraged, Rashmi Ranjan lost his temper and slapped Bapi.
Upset by Rashmi Ranjan’s behavior, Bapi and his associate reportedly chased him and attacked him with sharp weapons, causing his death on the spot. Sources added that the assailants also attacked Julu when he tried to intervene.
A severely injured Julu was immediately taken to Capital Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he did not survive, according to sources.
On being informed about the incident, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh and Airfield police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
One platoon of police has been deployed to the area to ease tension and prevent any untoward incidents.
