School in Odisha notified by SC over marks irregularities
Bhubaneswar: Following a petition filed by 24 students, the Supreme Court requested a response from a private school in Odisha. The pupils claimed that the school demanded money illegally and exerted undue pressure on them to enrol in Class XI at the same school if they wanted to get a decent grade in Class X.
A court led by Justice AM Khanwilkar issued a notice to St Xavier International School, Bhubaneswar, after hearing the students' lawyer's submission. Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and CT Ravikumar were also on the panel.
The Supreme Court had already issued notifications to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Centre in response to the petition.
The kids, through their lawyer Mamta Sharma, filed a complaint alleging that the school demanded money and put excessive pressure on them to enrol in Class XI at the same school if they wanted to earn excellent grades in Class X.
