Woman Who Attempted Suicide At Gopalpur Police Station, Dies

Berhampur: In the Ganjam district of Odisha, a woman allegedly killed herself by ingesting pesticide in front of a police station.
On Friday night, the woman, named as Tikina Dash of Jyoti Nagar in Mandiapalli, went to the Gopalpur police station. She asked the cops to contact her spouse. She later sat in front of the police station at the Trinath temple.
She eventually pulled out a packet of insecticide and ate it. She had already consumed some insecticide and was beginning to throw up when the police arrived and seized the bag away.
Tikina was transported to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur by Srikant Khamari, the IIC of the police station, and other staff members. Late on Friday night, while receiving treatment, she passed away.
In this case, the police have opened an investigation into an unnatural death.
Tikina and her husband have reportedly been at odds for the past few days over a number of topics.
