Orissa HC Issues Stay Order On rules for Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award

Cuttack: The state government's announcement on the creation of new guidelines for the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Awards has been temporarily halted by an order from the Orissa High Court.
The state government and the president and secretary of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi (OSA) were also ordered by the HC to submit their responses.
Dr. Nrusingha Charan Sarangi, the chairman of the OSA subcommittee, petitioned the HC, and the court granted his request.
A subcommittee was established to draught new guidelines for OSA awards. The subcommittee created the new regulations and submitted them for review and approval to the state Department of Culture.
But rather of approving the rules, the administration came up with a new set and published a notification.
