Three nabbed with leopard skins seized in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the seizure of three leopard skins in Jharsuguda, the STF has uncovered yet another racket involving the sale of wild animal hides in western Odisha.
According to sources, an STF squad raided a home at Malidhi Chhak on the Jharsuguda-Kuchinda route on Sunday as a result of trustworthy information about a contract to sell the animal skins.
During the raid, they detained three people who were involved in the sale and found three leopard hides in their possession.
The STF has arrested the apprehended individuals because they were unable to present a legitimate document to justify the hides. According to the sources, the accused people are from Jharsuguda, Balangir, and Sambalpur districts.
It should be mentioned that on August 3 and July 29, respectively, an STF squad in Kandhamal district recovered a leopard hide and detained one individual while seizing a leopard skin.
