Suna Besha today: Deities glitter in golden attire

Puri: Thousands of worshippers have already arrived on the Bada Danda (Grand Road) to see the splendorous vista of the gods atop Raths this evening dressed in Suna Besha (attire with gold decorations).
The Suna Besha, sometimes referred to as the Badachadhau Besha, has already begun.
Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhara, and Chakraraj Sudarshan—the Chaturdhamurtis—who are now on the Raths following their return from Shree Gundicha Temple yesterday—will dazzle while donning a variety of quintal-weight gold decorations.
On the Ashadha Ekadashi, also called Harishayan Ekadashi, the Suna Besha rite is performed annually. After Madhyahna Dhupa, the ceremony begins, and deities continue to offer worshippers Darshan until late in the evening. The jewellery is removed following Sandhya Dhupa.
Sripayar, Sribhuja, Kiriti, Ghagadamali, Kadambamali, Kundal, Adakani, and Chandrika are some of Lord Balabhadra's decorations. Devi Subhadra is adorned with jewellery with the names Kiriti, Odiani, Kaan, Tadagi, Sebatimali, Ghagadamali, and Kadambamali, while Lord Jagannath is glistening with Sripayar, Sribhuja, Kiriti, Ghagadamali, Kadambamali, Kundal, and other decorations.
