Rayagada Excise Superintendent Nina Beura arrested, Rs 6 lakh seized
Bhubaneswar: On Saturday, Rayagada Excise Superintendent Nina Beura was nabbed by Odisha Vigilance for having unaccounted cash worth Rs 6 lakh while travelling in a car near Khurda on Friday.
She was stopped by a Vigilance squad on her way to Bhubaneswar from Rayagada at around 11.30 p.m. on Friday night after receiving a tip. She was detained after she was unable to account for the large sum of money she was carrying.
Her spouse, Nihar Ranjan Das, is the IIC of Mahanga police station in Cuttack district, and his whereabouts are unknown. When Vigilance officers arrived to his home to conduct searches, they discovered it was locked. He has been ordered to appear at the Bhubaneswar Vigilance Office.
