Odisha Assembly's Winter Session adjourned sine die
Bhubaneswar: Bikram Keshari Arukha, the speaker of the Odisha Assembly, adjourned the assembly sine die on Friday, 29 days ahead of schedule. The winter session began on November 24 and was supposed to last through December 31.
The Government Chief Whip proposed a sine die adjournment of the session.
The House only met for eight working days. On the first day of the session, the first supplementary budget for fiscal year 2022-23 was introduced in the House. On Friday, the appropriation bill was passed.
The honey trap racket case involving lady blackmailer Archana Nag, farmers' issues, and teachers' issues dominated the Winter Session as the opposition BJP and Congress attempted to corner the State Government ahead of the Padampur assembly constituency by-election.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was in attendance and praised the MPs for attending the winter session.
