Cuttack: Thousands of cricket fans stood in line all night at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, to purchase tickets for the second T20 International between India and South Africa, which will take place on June 12.

Tickets for the general public went on sale at 9 a.m. on Thursday at stadium counters. There will be a total of 12,093 tickets sold.

By presenting a legitimate government ID proof such as a voter ID or an Aadhaar card, each person can purchase a maximum of two tickets at any price.

Cricket enthusiasts from all across Odisha have flocked to the stadium to get tickets, with lines forming as early as last night. The long lines at the ticket booths indicate that the absence of celebrities such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul has had no effect on ticket sales.

There are nine counters, seven for men and two for women.

Earlier, 5,000 tickets were sold online, while another 8,000 seats were sold to clubs, schools, and other Odisha Cricket Association-affiliated organisations (OCA).

To preserve peace and order during the ticket sale, ten platoons of police officers have been placed surrounding the stadium.
