American Couple Adopts Orphan Baby Girl From Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A girl child from Odisha has found a new home after being abandoned by her parents and growing up in an orphanage. Punya was adopted by a US couple, David and AB Hasley, and travelled to the United States with them on Wednesday.

Punya, who has been differently abled since birth, was discovered abandoned outside an ashram in Cuttack two years ago. She was probably abandoned in a cradle outside the ashram by her parents because she has polio. Childline officials rescued her and rehabilitated her at Bashundhara Child Care Centre. Punya was her name.

She has finally found a new home when a couple from the United States agreed to adopt her.

"India is breathtakingly gorgeous, and its people are really friendly. "The first place that came to mind when we thought of adoption was India," David was quoted as saying.

"Our love and affection for her will not wane." He stated, "We will endeavour to offer her with the greatest medical treatment possible."

Punya, according to AB Hasley, has a bright future ahead of her.
