Internet Helped Reduce Loss Of Life Post-COVID: Dharmendra
Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development, stressed the need to develop "skills education for livelihoods and to offer equitable opportunity for education, especially on the internet."
Pradhan said India was dedicated to minimising the loss of life following COVID-19 via introduction of DBT and digital platforms in the virtual mode conference of the World Bank's Human Capital Ministerial Conclave.
"The country's goal has been to reduce the loss of human capital via the use of digital platforms and enhance the quality of life through technology and provide equitable educational prospects for all," stated the Minister for Education.
"India implemented a multi-pronged COVID-9 approach by means of e-learning platforms, digital libraries, DTH, internet and radio services in order to provide students with value-added learning," he stated.
The government has also set itself objectives of education through internet to enhance the National Digital Education Websites, Pradhan said.
In a ministry-wide meeting, CoWin, DBT and other digital platforms contributed to the reduction of human resources in India, said Pradhan, and thanked the World Bank to approve reforms initiated in the distribution of LPG (liquid oil gas) to eight poor crore gas consumers in the country by removing subsidies.
