Cuttack: At the urging of the All India National Congress, a signature drive was organized by the Cuttack District Congress Committee in front of the petrol pump at Link Road on the instructions of PCC President Shri Niranjan Patnaik under the leadership of Cuttack District Congress Committee, President, Manas Choudhury.
The Cuttack District Congress Committee has protested against the hike in oil prices by 35 paise per liter to Rs 102.62 per liter and diesel by 17 paise per liter. Sold for Rs 98.01 each
Proteting to the rise in petrol prices, the district president, Shri Manas Ranjan Choudhury, today sold petrol at Rs 80.00 per liter which was being appreciated by the by-standers and common layman. The Union Government and the state government’s policy of killing the poor has broken the backbone of the middle class and the lower classes in this difficult time, while petrol and diesel are on the rise.
when asked by the media, Choudhury said "We will not tolerate further protests, we demand that the price hike be reduced to the level that petrol and diesel prices were during the deputy government, or that there will be protests at every district, panchayat level in the coming days".
