Odisha to experience rain, thunderstorm for next four days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning, gusty surface wind, and fairly widespread rain in Odisha over the next five days on Wednesday.

"Due to likely interaction of middle tropospheric westerly trough with lower level easterly, and moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, meteorological conditions becoming favourable for moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning, gusty surface wind and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the districts of Odisha within next 5 days,” the IMD said in its midday bulletin.
While the rain is expected to lower the daytime temperature in the state, Boudh recorded the highest temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, followed by Sonepur (38) and Jharsuguda (31). (37.8). The temperature dropped to 35.2 degrees Celsius in Bhubaneswar, which had been above 38 degrees Celsius the day before.
The Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan predicts rain and thunderstorms with lightning between March 16 and 19 in coastal and south Odisha, with interior districts experiencing the same but at a lesser intensity. It also predicted thunderstorms with hail in northern and coastal Odisha between March 16 and 18. It went on to say that the daytime temperature would drop to 33 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state starting March 16 and would continue until March 21.
