Panic gripped the residents of Bhubaneswar, the state capital, after mild earthquake tremors were felt following an earthquake that struck Odisha on Sunday. The tremors lasted for several seconds and caused alarm among the inhabitants.
As of the latest reports, there have been no indications of damage to life or property. Residents in various localities of Bhubaneswar reported feeling the mild tremors on Sunday morning. However, official confirmation from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regarding the tremors is still pending.
"I was sleeping when I heard a noise and then experienced the mild tremors," said a local resident. Another individual who felt the tremors shared, "I was out for a morning walk between 7:10 and 7:15 am when I first heard a sound and felt some dizziness. It was only later that I learned from others that it was an earthquake."
Meanwhile, clarity regarding the situation is expected once the National Centre for Seismology releases updates about the earthquake's intensity and epicenter.
