"BJP is experiencing rebellion in Haryana as a minister and an MLA quit in protest."

Nayab Singh Saini, the Chief Minister of Haryana, is facing rebellion within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as two of his ministers have resigned. The revolt began after the BJP released its first list of 67 candidates for the upcoming October 5 elections. Among the leaders who have revolted are state Energy Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala and Minister of State for Social Justice Bishamber Singh Balmiki. These leaders have resigned from the government, despite efforts by Chief Minister Saini to talk to them.

The rebels are accusing the party of favoring turncoats over loyalists in ticket distribution. The BJP's list, released on September 4, dropped eight sitting MLAs, including the two ministers. The 90-member Haryana Assembly will go to the polls on October 5, with the results being declared on October 8.

Ranjit Singh Chautala contested the 2019 Assembly polls in Haryana as an independent candidate after the Congress denied him a ticket. He later joined the BJP after resigning as an MLA. Chautala, the son of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, announced his decision to resign as a Minister and from the primary membership of the BJP after meeting his supporters in Rania. He stated that he will contest the elections as an independent candidate from Rania, refusing the BJP's offer of a ticket from Dabwali, and he emphasized that he cannot compromise on his principles.
