Conspiracy being hatched to kill me: Odisha LoP Jaynarayan Mishra
Bhubaneswar: In the midst of a raging controversy over his alleged altercation with a female police officer, BJP stalwart and Odisha's Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra claimed on Thursday that there was a conspiracy to 'eradicate' him.
Mishra launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJD, accusing it of becoming enraged and engineering attacks on him after he raised issues related to the murder of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das by a police officer.
The senior BJP leader leveled a serious charge against the ruling party, alleging that BJD goons visited the circuit house in Sambalpur to kill him after learning that he was staying there.
He claimed that goons ransacked the circuit house while he was away, and that he esaped because he was not present at the time. "I suspect they came with the intent of eliminating me. "There is a plot to assassinate me because I have raised several pressing issues," he claimed.
Concerned about Mishra's safety, Odisha BJP in-charge D Purandeswari claimed that a false case had been filed against the LoP. She also demanded that Mishra be given special protection.
She claimed that Mishra was shoved and punched by a female police officer in Sambalpur on Wednesday and claimed that even the state's opposition leader is not safe in Odisha due to the state's deteriorating law and order situation.
Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, a senior BJP leader, also claimed that the alleged scuffle between Mishra and the female police officer in Sambalpur on Wednesday was pre-planned by the ruling BJD. Mishra claims that the ruling party is attempting to silence him because he is critical of the state government over NabaDas's murder.
