Cyclonic circulation likely to form in BoB today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin on Saturday that a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal over the next 24 hours.

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin on Saturday that a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal over the next 24 hours.
A Low Pressure Area is expected to form over the same area around Sunday as a result of its influence. It is expected to consolidate into a depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal around May 8, according to the forecast.
Following that, it is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm as it moves nearly northwards towards the central Bay of Bengal. After the formation of a low pressure area, the details of its path and intensification will be provided. According to the IMD, the system is constantly monitored and under constant surveillance.
It is unknown whether the system will have any effect on Odisha.
If the system strengthens into a cyclonic storm, it will be named Cyclone "Mocha."
In connection with the system, the IMD made the following projections:
Most places will see light/moderate rain, with isolated heavy rain very likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Sunday and heavy to very heavy rain from May 8 to 10.
On Sunday, squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is expected to prevail over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Andaman Sea.
Wind speeds would gradually increase to 50-60 kmph with gusts up to 70 kmph over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands on May 8 and 9, and over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and north Andaman Sea on May 10.
