Villagers oppose the removal of betel vines at the JSW project site

Jagatsinghpur: On Friday, tensions rose at JSW's proposed steel plant site in the area, as several locals protested the project's demolition of betel vines.
According to sources, the incident occurred while some Dhinkia panchayat villagers were attempting to block the demolition of betel vines. They claimed that the district government was forcibly destroying betel vines and evicting people from their homes in order to build the project.
When the police stationed there attempted to stop them from walking forward, a brawl broke out between the locals, including women, and the officers.
As the scene became more tense, with locals allegedly becoming aggressive, the police used lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
Tensions were high in the area as the standoff between protesting locals and police persisted.
