Naveen Dedicates Revamped Tara Tarini Temple To People

Bhubaneswar: The rebuilt Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam district was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.
On the final day of the 5-day sanctification rites of the new shrine construction, the chief minister served as chief patron. He also performed puja for Maa Tara Tarini, who is Ganjam's presiding deity.
Naveen dedicated the newly-built temple amenities to the people, saying they would be extremely beneficial and bring more worshippers and tourists to the Devi shrine. He thanked the workers, artists, and masons for their contributions to the temple's construction.
He singled out the late Raghunath Mohapatra, an accomplished sculptor, for his contribution. On the occasion, he also congratulated sculptor Narayan Tripathy.
"I performed puja to Maa Taratarini in order to obtain blessings for the people of Ganjam. "Whenever I go to the temple, I experience a rare sense of fulfilment and tranquilly," he remarked.
The ceremonies were performed by servants from Jagannath temple in Puri, Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar, Samaleswari temple in Sambalpur, and Baldevjew temple in Kendrapada.
At a cost of Rs 115 crore, the temple premises were renovated to include a resting place for worshippers, a dining hall, a discourse hall, space for lighting lamps, a central plaza, and modern lighting.
Surjya Narayan Patro, the Speaker of the Assembly, and minister Bikram Keshari Arukh also spoke at the event. There were several ministers, MLAs, and secretaries in attendance.
