Minister Plans To Open Working Women's Hostel In Five Odisha Districts Soon
Bhubaneswar: Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti Minister Tukuni Sahu told the State Assembly on Saturday that working women's dormitories will be built in five districts of Odisha soon.
At response to a question from BJD member Prasant Behera, she stated that a 100-bed working women's dormitory will be built shortly in Sundargarh, Jajpur, Khurda, Berhampur (Ganjam), and Rayagada. “These districts' collectors have been requested to select land for this purpose. “Once the places are determined, development will begin,” she said.
Working women with a monthly salary of less than Rs 35,000 will be allowed to reside in these hostels, according to the minister.
She stated that the collectors will create a committee to oversee the hostels.
