Maoists and security forces exchange fire in Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: On the same day that Odisha DGP Abhay was on a tour of the state to assess the Maoist situation in Nuapada and neighbouring districts, an exchange of fire between security personnel and Maoists occurred in Kalahandi district on Sunday morning.
When a team of SOG, district police, and DVF were conducting a search operation in the Sagada forest, they came upon Maoists. There was a firefight between the insurgents and the security troops.
So yet, no casualties have been recorded. More information is awaited.
