Mahanga quintuple murder case: Accused Siba Sahu recreates crime scene

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Siba Sahu, the main suspect in a quintuple murder in Odisha's Cuttack district, was taken to the crime scene in Kusupur.

The crime scene was recreated in the presence of Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, IIC of Mahanga police station, and Bimal Barik, SDPO of Salepur, and the murder weapon was confiscated during the procedure, according to sources.

Alekha Sahu and his family of four were reportedly murdered at 3 a.m. on Tuesday after a long-drawn fight over a plot of land. Siba eventually confessed to killing five members of his elder brother's family in a video and surrendered to the Balichandrapur police station in Jajpur district.

On Thursday, authorities placed him on a three-day remand following his arrest. Siba, on the other hand, was unable to be thoroughly interrogated on the first day because he became ill and was later admitted to a hospital.

According to preliminary inquiry, the accused slashed the victims' wrist veins while they were sleeping, causing them to die from copious bleeding. He may possibly have spiked their food, according to the theory.

According to authorities, the viscera report will disclose whether the accused inebriated the five family members before killing them.

According to police sources, Siba used a katuri to chop the bodies of Alekh and Rashmi (sharp weapon).
