Four people get 20-year jail for raping girl in Odisha

Berhampur: For raping a 14-year-old girl four years ago, a special court in Odisha's Ganjam district sentenced four offenders to 20 years of arduous imprisonment.
Ganeshwar Pati, the Pocso court judge in Berhampur, convicted the four people on Wednesday and sentenced them to time in prison, according to reports.
According to special public prosecutor Mohan Singari, the court also ordered the Ganjam district legal service authority to give the juvenile rape survivor Rs. 5 lakh as compensation.
On August 16, 2018, the adolescent left her home to use the restroom in a field when she was approached by the four accused. The medical report and the testimonies of 14 witnesses were used to make the ruling.
