Deer Park In Odisha’s Cuttack To Be Relocated

Cuttack: In accordance with a de-congestion strategy, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMc) is planning to move deer from Madhusudan Nagar, Madhusudan Tulasipur to Chandaka Wald near Nandankanan Zoo.

An spot of around 100 acres in Chandaka to transfer the deer has been selected.

The Department of Forestry has presented an estimate of Rs 1.2 crore for animal moving, sources added.

Created in 1981, the Deer Park included 2,5 acres. Initially, there were just five deers, but now there are more than 243 people.

The decision of the City Body follows the direction of Orissa High Court and CZA warning to give the deer population with ample space and appropriate environments
