Bhubaneswar: As Chief Secretary of Odisha, Suresh Chandra Mahapatra received a second six-month extension on Wednesday, putting an end to rumours regarding his replacement.
According to reliable sources, Mahapatra, whose extended term was supposed to conclude on August 31, will now hold the position of Chief Secretary of Odisha through February 28, 2023.
Following a plea by the state administration to keep his services for an additional six months, the Centre gave the go-ahead. The state government has been informed of this by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), which is a division of the Ministry of Personnel, Personal Grievances, and Pensions.
