CM sanctions ₹29.36 crore for establishment of 55 cyclone shelters

Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, chief minister Naveen Patnaik approved the second instalment of funding for the construction of disaster-resistant homes in Odisha.
The state government is spending Rs 98 crore building 55 new safe shelters to shield the populace from storms and floods. In April of this year, the chief minister approved Rs 29.36 crore for the project's initial phase.
In order to expedite the building of the shelters around the state, Naveen approved Rs 29.36 crore in the second phase and gave the project's completion deadline.
The safe shelters are being built by the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA).
