Baripada MPC College’s HOD dies in road mishap

Baripada: On Tuesday, a traffic accident claimed the life of the head of the department of commerce at the Maharaja Purna Chandra (MPC) Autonomous College in the Mayurbhanj district of Baripada, Odisha.
The HoD, Manisha Sharma, was reportedly riding a scooter home from the institution when a fast-moving car struck her vehicle close to the college. Manisha suffered serious injuries in the collision and passed out while the car's driver fled.
College students hurried the lecturer to the hospital, where the medical staff pronounced her dead.
Following her passing, a dharna on the road leading to the institution was organised by hundreds of angry students seeking the arrest of the car's driver. Police eventually arrived and reassured the youngsters that they would do all in their power to apprehend the motorist in order to calm them down.
