BJD and the BJP are waging a Twitter war over Union Ministers' visit to Puri
Bhubaneswar: The visit of Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw to Odisha has sparked a Twitter battle between the BJD and the BJP in the state.
After arriving in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, the Union Minister went to Puri to seek Lord Jagannath's blessings.
“People of Odisha know the difference between seeking blessings without service and receiving blessed after continuous service,” BJD leader and High Education Minister Arun Sahoo wrote on his official Twitter handle on Friday.
“People realise the difference between service and misuse of power,” Odisha BJP spokeswoman and general secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar said on Twitter. She also shared a photo of the Union Ministers prostrating in front of the Lords, which she contrasted to Sahoo's.
Earlier in the day, BJD MLA Pranab Prakash Das chastised Dharmendra for urging that the Ayushman Bharat plan be implemented in Odisha by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
“The recipient limit for Ayushman Bharat is 60 lakh, whereas Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana covers 96 lakh families,” he said.
Pranab claimed there are no benefits for women under the central system in a series of tweets. For women in the family who enrol in BKKY, there is a provision of Rs 10 lakh each year. He also contrasted the two plans' hospital coverage.
“Ayushman Bharat is an insurance, whereas BSKY is a total healthcare assurance,” he added.
