Bhubaneswar: For the third back to back night, the base temperature stayed under 10 degrees Celsius in Daringbadi, where it was 8 degrees Celsius on Saturday night.
Taking all things together, 17 spots in the state recorded least temperatures under 15 degrees Celsius. In the twin urban areas of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the night temperature additionally plunged under 15, recorded at 13.2 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius, separately.
Different spots recording under 15 degrees Celsius were Baripada (11.8), Balasore (12.5), Jharsuguda (10.4), Hirakud (12.6), Keonjhar (9.6), Sambalpur (13.4), Talcher (13), Chandbali (12), Bolangir (13.8), Sonepur (13.9), Titlagarh (10.8), Phulbani (11), Bhawanipatna (11) and Koraput (13.5).
The territorial Met focus here has estimate a fall in night temperatures for three days, beginning January 2.
The provincial office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its evening release on Saturday said the base temperature will fall by 3-4 degree Celsius over this period. There will be no adjustment of least temperature from there on, it added.
