49 migrant labourers rescued while being trafficked to Hyderabad

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the Odisha Police rescued 49 bonded labourers who were being trafficked from two different locations in the Balangir district.
According to authorities, a joint squad of Kantabanji and Belpada police also managed to save 16 women and 19 children. They were all citizens of Patnagarh, Belpada, and Tureikela.
Two people, including Sardar Suraj Bagh, were held by the police for additional interrogation in relation to the event. A probe is being conducted to see if anyone else is involved in the scam.
Of the 49 labourers, 27 were rescued from Beherensilet village by Kantabanji Police while being driven to Hyderabad, including 11 women, 4 men, and 12 children. A police unit from Belpada was able to save the remaining individuals.
