Bhubaneswar: On Saturday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is on a four-day visit to Odisha, evaluated the railway projects Jeypore-Malkangiri, Jeypore-Nawarangpur, and Theruvali-Gunupur.

The Union Minister tweeted that he began his third day in the state with a review meeting and emphasised the importance of completing projects as quickly as possible. He also talked about the area's future prospects.

Vaishnaw then resumed his Jan Ashirwad Yatra by paying a visit to the Sabar Srikhetra and requesting Lord Jagannath's blessings. He met President Awardee Uma Kant Das, a retired teacher, on his way there.

He was hailed by BJP activists in Ambaguda, Borigumma, and Auli on his way to Nabarangpur.

The Railway Minister tweeted a video of himself drinking tea at a roadside kiosk in Koraput on Friday. He wrote, "I appreciated the tea and paid a digital payment for it."

Vaishnaw has been updating his official Twitter account about his trip to Odisha, from boarding the plane in New Delhi to arriving in Bhubaneswar and taking the train to Rayagada. All of the tweets are in Odia as well.

He tweeted when he arrived in Bhubaneswar saying Odisha is his "Karmabhoomi."

This, coupled with his swearing-in in Odia in the Upper House in 2019 and invoking Jagannath after being sworn in as a Cabinet minister, is seen as an attempt to demonstrate his dedication to Odisha, where he is not a native.

Former bureaucrat-turned-politician Rajashthan is a 1994-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer.

Following Rayagada, Jeypore, and Nabrangpur, Vaishnaw will go to Bhawanipatna on Sunday, then take a train from Balangir to Bhubaneswar the same day.
