3 Killed, Nine Injured After Truck Rams Bus Parked On NH-16 In Odisha
Balugaon: On Saturday, a truck rammed into a bus on National Highway 16 near Belapada Chhak in Balugaon, killing three people and injuring nine others.
E Lohidash and Gangadhar Maharana of Venkatraipur village, and Asit Behera of Alipur village in Ganjam district, have been identified as the deceased.
A truck slammed into a bus parked alongside the highway, killing two people on the spot. All of the injured were sent to the Balugaon Community Health Centre (CHC), where one more person died.
According to the sources, three of the nine people injured in the accident have been sent to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
The bus was returning from Maa Tarini at Ghatagaon, according to sources, with 18 picnickers and the driver on board. They came to a standstill outside Belapada Chhak around 3 a.m., and several passengers went to the restroom.
