Police constable's body found floating in pond in Keonjhar
On Tuesday, the body of a constable was discovered in a pond directly in front of a police station in Nandipada, Koenjhar district, Odisha.

Keonjhar: On Tuesday, the body of a constable was discovered in a pond directly in front of a police station in Nandipada, Koenjhar district, Odisha.
Pradeep Nayak, the deceased, was recently transferred from Keonjhar district headquarters to Nandipada police station. He was staying at the police station.
According to sources, Nayak went missing last night. His colleagues looked for him but were unable to locate him.
His body, however, was discovered floating in a pond in front of the police station this morning.
When the fire department was informed of the incident, they rushed to the scene and fished out the body.
The body was taken to Anandapur hospital for a postmortem, and police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
Though the exact cause of his death has yet to be determined, the constable's death just a day after returning to duty after a leave of absence has raised suspicion. According to sources, Nayak took a five-day leave and returned to his village. He had returned to duty the day before.
