Bhubaneswar: On Wednesday, a Plus II student was discovered hanging inside the Rama Devi Women's University's hostel room in Odisha's capital.
Pragyan Mohanty, a Plus II second year Arts student at Rama Devi Women's Junior College and a native of Rayagada district, has been identified as the deceased.
Pragyan was in her room, according to sources, because she had no exams scheduled for the day. She was later discovered draped from the ceiling fan with a dupatta.
Following notification, Saheed Nagar police arrived at the hostel and recovered a suicide note from the room. An investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
