The demands include the halting of 15-50pc (percentage) collection at the block level, the distribution of PMAY houses to eligible beneficiaries, and the creation of jobs for the unemployed.
This was announced today at a press conference by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Patnaik.
"The Congress will ghero all 314 block offices across the state on Friday (August 18) due to the failure of state government." This protest is being held to raise public awareness of the failure of the state government. "I urge people to join the protest," said the OPCC president.
"The Congress will gherao the block offices and submit memorandums to all block development officers (BDOs) addressing the Governor," he added.
"The BJD government has not done anything significant in the last 24 hours." "The State government announces several schemes before the election and then cancels them after the election," said Bijay Patnaik, chairperson of the party's campaign committee.
