Balasore: Following a heated argument, a man allegedly thrashed his wife to death in the Oupada area of Odisha's Balasore district.
According to sources, the man became enraged and attacked his wife, Sharmila Singh (30), after she allegedly danced at a neighbor's wedding. Ramachandra Singh (35), the accused, was identified.
The incident occurred on Saturday night in Paikapada village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Oupada police station, when the accused expressed his displeasure with the woman's participation in the dance, and a heated exchange ensued between the two.
The accused began thrashing Sharmila and hitting her with an iron rod in a fit of rage. The woman was critically injured in the attack and died on the scene.
After receiving the information, an Oupada police team rushed to the scene and seized the body, which was then sent for a postmortem.
Ramchandra has also been detained by police, who have launched an investigation into the incident. More information is awaited.
