Police To Interrogate ACF's Widow, Mother, and Brother
Paralakhemundi: On Sunday, a six-member police team left for Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts as part of the probe into the death of Gajapati district Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra.
Mohapatra's widow, Bidya Bharati Panda, in Mayurbhanj, and his elder brother and mother in Balasore district would be interrogated by a team led by IIC of Paralakhemundi Town Police Station Bibekanand Swain.
On Saturday, SP (Gajapati) Tapan Kumar Patnaik went to the residence of the dead ACF for an on-the-spot investigation.
Police had recorded the statements of Mohapatra's father, uncle, brother, and a friend, he subsequently told the media.
Police would question the deceased's wife, mother, and brother based on the statements, he said.
DFO (Paralakhemundi) Sangram Keshari Behera will also be questioned, according to the SP.
Notably, the deceased ACF had expressed concerns about job stress and family strife to his mother and brother.
