The Indian Railways announced that three Vande Bharat trains currently operate in Odisha, with the number set to increase to six once the new ones become operational.

The Indian Railways announced that three new Vande Bharat Express trains will start running through Odisha from September 15. These new trains are Tata-Berhampur, Rourkela-Howrah, and Durg-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express. This will bring the total number of Vande Bharat trains running through Odisha to six. The launch of these new trains is part of a plan to introduce 10 such trains, which will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 15.
The exact timing of these new trains will be announced by Indian Railways soon. Additionally, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has been invited by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to join the event at Berhampur on Sunday. In response, the CMO has stated that the Centre has allocated a budget of Rs 10,586 crore in 2024-25 to further strengthen the railway infrastructure in Odisha.
