During this time, light to moderate thunderstorms are also possible in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, and Keonjhar. People have been advised to keep an eye on the weather and to move to safer areas if lightning strikes.
Earlier in the day, a similar warning was issued for Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Nayagarh.
The MeT office has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at the one to places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi and Koraput during the next 24 hours, while dry weather may prevail in the remaining parts of the state.
While rain is expected in Odisha until March 24, temperatures in many places may gradually rise by 3-4 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
