Congress Appoints New Office-Bearers For Odisha unit
Congress has appointed new office-bearers for the Odisha unit of the party ahead of the 2024 elections, including five senior vice presidents, 12 vice presidents, 39 general secretaries, and 61 secretaries.
Bhubaneswar: Congress has appointed new office-bearers for the Odisha unit of the party ahead of the 2024 elections, including five senior vice presidents, 12 vice presidents, 39 general secretaries, and 61 secretaries.
The new appointees will report to Sarat Pattanayak, president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC). In addition, the party president established a 67-member executive committee for the Odisha Congress.
The appointments were made with the state assembly election and the Lok Sabha elections in mind for next year.
"With immediate effect, the Congress President has approved the proposal for the appointment of office bearers, as well as the constitution of the Executive Committee and Media Department of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee," according to a party statement.
Ganeswar Behera, Tara Prasad Bahinipati (MLA), Debasish Pattanaik, Sibananda Ray, and Saraswati Hembram are the new senior vice presidents.
Mamata Madhi, Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi, Rajendra Chhatria, Bibhuti Mishra, C S Rajan Ekka, Janaki Ballav Pattanaik, Kishore Jena, Pratima Malik, Shuvendu Mohanty, Biswa Bhushan Das, Rajat Kumar Choudhury, and Nakula Naik are among the newly appointed vice presidents.
The state Congress has also appointed Santosh Singh Saluja as treasurer.
