Woman Consumes Poison Before Police Station In Ganjam

Chatrapur: On Tuesday evening, a woman allegedly ingested poison in front of the Chatrapur Model police station in the Ganjam district of Odisha due to dowry harassment by her in-laws. It has been determined that the woman is M. Jhili Patra, Muna Patra's wife, of Mahaveer Nagar in Chatrapur.
The woman claimed that her in-laws were harassing her because of the dowry. They were a love pair, and Muna used to fight against his family members for harassing his wife.
The couple reported Muna's family to the police on August 2 at Chatrapur Model police station. On Tuesday, a reconciliation meeting was scheduled on the grounds of the police station, but Jhili ingested poison in front of the station since the couple and Muna's family were unable to come to an agreement. She was taken in an emergency to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where she is receiving care.
