Superintending Engineer caught red handed while Taking Bribe
Jajpur: On Wednesday, the district's Vigilance officers captured Chandi Prasad Mohapatra, superintending engineer, Drainage Division, receiving a bribe.
Surendra Raiguru, the Vigilance DSP of Cuttack Division, told the media that Mohapatra allegedly asked a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a car owner to settle unpaid travel bills.
A trap was set, and Mohapatra was caught red-handed taking the bribe money from the driver at his office chamber, as the driver told the Vigilance officers.
The bribe money has been recovered from the engineer's possession, according to the DSP, who added that simultaneous raids are being undertaken on the engineer's apartment in Bhubaneswar and his paternal house in Tirtol of Jagatsinghpur.
